HOW I WORK

COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY

Making the decision to come to therapy can feel scary and quite daunting. Often that first step of coming to therapy is the hardest, it takes courage for clients to walk through the door. However, it is likely to be the most positive step you can make towards progress, growth and change.

The therapeutic relationship that I develop with each person is fundamental to facilitating a safe, confidential, and warm environment. Our first consultation would give you an opportunity to meet me and explore what brings you to therapy. At the end of the consultation you may make a decision to pursue further regular sessions, take time to think about it, or I may suggest other options, which may be more beneficial to you.

Following on from our initial consultation, I would conduct a clinical assessment with a view to offering weekly sessions at an agreed day and time. Regular sessions are usually held on a weekly basis for a 55-minute duration.

My current fees are

£65:00 for individual clients face to face

£65:00 for individual clients online

Payment is made at the end of each session either by cash, cheque or BACS.

YOGA THERAPY AND MINDFULNESS

‘Yoga therapy is the professional application of the principles and practices of yoga to promote health and well-being within a therapeutic relationship that includes personalised assessment, goal-setting, lifestyle management and yoga practices for individuals or small groups.

The International Association of Yoga Therapists IAYT

Yoga therapy is different to a yoga class and is for any age and any ability.

I tailor each yoga therapy session to the specific needs of the client; yoga therapy treats the whole person on a holistic level. This involves breath work, directed mindfulness, specific meditation practices and appropriate levels of movement dependent upon the needs of the client. I offer 1:1 tailor made sessions or 8- week courses for groups. These sessions follow an evidence-based programme designed to reduce stress or suffering from anxiety and depression. Please contact me directly for further information and my fees.

MINDFULNESS IN EDUCATION

I am qualified to deliver MISP (Mindfulness in Schools Programme) courses on a consultancy basis within schools. This is an opportunity to raise awareness and educate students, staff and parents on the benefits of a daily mindfulness practice. This is an education rather than therapy and is not designed to address serious mental health problems, though it can often help with difficult emotional states. Please contact me directly for further information and my fees.
